Dr. Festus Iyayi, Former ASUU Leader
The sixty-six years old UNIBEN lecturer died in a motor vehicle accident on his to an executive meeting in Kano to further negotiate with the President, regarding the suspension of the four-months Strike.
This happened at the Lokoja-Abuja express way. It was gathered that his driver was trying to avoid a collision with Kogi State Governor's convoy, as one the Governor's drivers abruptly turned to Prof. Iyayi vehicle's lane.
Prof. Iyayi wasn't the only victim of accident as some members of ASUU, Benin Zone, were with him. However, Only Prof. Iyayi has been confirmed dead.
